Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer was one of the first Roberts to move to Atlanta. Early in his life, her dad became fascinated with acting. As studying at Emory University in 1952 he was a part of productions at Emory University and elsewhere in Atlanta. When he joined the Air Force, in 1953 he appeared in an air force production in Biloxi together with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple got married in 1957. Walter attended Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after he left the Airforce in 1957. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the family moved into Decatur Georgia. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local Saturday morning children's television program named Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed their own. They also founded an organization that lasted for six years called the Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. They were joined by Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) in this time.
